A taco recap. It was 2008, our third meeting of the year on the 23th of April.
In attendance this evening were: Ken, Frank, Doug, Robert, Jeff and his guest Scott and of course John. John, arrived last to find his friends had the spaces in the Burrito Junior parking lot.
This week I learned that the tacos at Burrito Junior’s are much larger than their amigos at my local taco shop “Cactus” on Vine avenue a short walk from work. So I personally ate way to much. On top of that the crappy decaf coffee and the cinnamon roll left me with the worst heartburn that revisited me with a vengeance at 5:00 a.m. I’m posting this way after the fact, but I’m pretty sure my stomach hurt till after lunch the next day.
I suppose I may have just missed that heartburn by not eating the cinnamon roll after it nearly came out of my nose when I learned what Robert had said earlier in the evening. Never forget, JOHN CAN NOT RECEIVE text messages. We were reminded of this as John struggled with an apparent wrong number message on his phone.
Dammit, Frank nearly caused me to spray coffee out my nose as well, But I’ve forgotten why.
Perhaps as summer progresses the after dinner, sweets portion, of Taco Night will improve. A motion was made to travel a short distance to a more suitable location but that effort fell flat when it’s author went to the restroom.
Jeff shared with his his stories of taking the Elise to work for a few days. I think I recall he was able ignite a small fabrication and hear it come back to him in a much larger way after only a few hours. His story had crossed the student teacher divide and had been properly exaggerated to mythic proportions. Ahhh the power of a fine car.
Didn’t hear much from Robert, He was at the far end of the table and didn’t have much of a voice. I understand he knows Jeff’s friend Scott, the best.
As always it was a pleasure to see everyone.
